A gaping fleshy hole was all that remained of her nose after it was hacked off on orders from the Taliban when Bibi fled an arranged marriage and abusive in-laws.
She also had her ears sliced off as part of the punishment.
Recalling the moment when her brutal attackers caught up with her, Bibi says: "When they cut off my nose and ears, I passed out. Then, in the middle of the night I felt like there was cold water in my nose.
"I opened my eyes and couldn't even see because of all the blood."
Bibi, an illiterate young woman from a village in the southern Afghanistan province of Uruzgan, has been fitted with the prosthetic nose and her beauty has been restored.
